My wife and I have known Joe for several years and knew he had experience in the mortgage industry. We were not planning on buying a new house anytime soon. But when we stumbled upon the perfect house in the perfect part of town, we knew we had to act quickly. After discussing with our real estate, we called Joe right away. Even though the builder was pushing their lender, and the fact that I work for one of the largest banks in the country, we still went with Joe because we knew he would look out for us in a way that other lenders would not. He did not disappoint.I never realized how important the right loan specialist is in the entire home buying transaction until we worked with Joe. From the first call, Joe was able to get us pre-qualified quickly so we could meet with the builder the following day. Joe even gave me a heads up that we could be approved without a conditional sale of our existing home. At the time I didn’t know what that meant because we had planned on selling our house anyway. Sure enough when we sat down with the builder, they told us an offer required a contingent sale of our home within 30 days, or a non-conditional approval from our lender. With the info Joe provided to us, we were able to write the correct offer that day and get the house and lot we wanted.Even though our house took 8 month to build, Joe kept in touch with us throughout the process, letting us know what to expect from the builder, lender, and giving advice on actions we could and should not take so that we did not adversely effect on our credit reports prior to closing the loan. The service Joe provided was above and beyond what we expected from a lender. When selling our existing home during this time period, Joe explained the different types of loans that the buyers were using in their offers, and how the terms of those loans might affect our sale. Joe’s knowledge of mortgage products and processes was invaluable to us in not only buying our new home, but selling our existing home. Most surprising was a call from Joe giving us a head’s up on how rates were reacting to some recent news. He had been watching rates closely and alerted us to a sudden change in rates. We were about 40 days out from closing, and with the information and options Joe provided, we locked in an excellent rate. At this point there was no doubt we had made the right decision to go with Joe. Had we went with another lender and been just another borrower, I would not have gotten a call until we were within the 30 day lock period and probably gotten whatever the rate was when they got to my call. I reached out to Joe for advice on a difficult and complicated mortgage situation and I have to say he was very helpful, professional and compassionate in giving me the news I was afraid I might hear. I started the process with a different lender and was having some appraisal issues. I made the right choice by calling Joe. Not only did he go the extra mile for us during the refi process. He continued to make sure any and all questions were answered as if it was his own personal loan he was doing. That was the service we experienced with him. Also they were cheaper in closing costs as well as interest rate by almost .5 a point.We closed the loan within a 30 day framework with a holiday. Let it be noted that when they needed documents we got them to them within 24 hours. If you delay getting docs to them you cant expect quick closing.Nothing but good things to say about Joe

Joe was a HUGE resource!! If you are looking to buy a house I recommend him. Buying a home can be a stressful and confusing time. I called him multiple times regarding information outside of his job description. He consistently took the time to educate and offer resources to help. He was honest and gave advice with our desires in mind. I never felt like we were just a client, but rather a friend or family member. Honestly, what can I say about Joseph that has not already been said in these reviews. As first time home buyers my wife and I had heard nothing but horror stories about the entire process. Well that was wrong or at least wrong for us, Joseph was amazing in every aspect. He would literally give us updates daily and was able to close our loan in under a month. His constant communication and the fact that he did care was remarkable and made our experience that much more enjoyable and not stressful at all. He assisted in every aspect providing honest answers and honest costs. What more could you ask for well not much but he still went above and beyond. He was able to secure a lower rate which was excellent and provide us with other sound advice. Really, if you're looking for a new home and someone to handle your loan the real question you should be asking yourself is should I use Joseph but why am I not. Five stars is simply not enough to rate him he is honestly that good.
For those of you out there looking for someone you can trust to handle your mortgage, I would like to recommend Joseph Spears. Joe has been in the mortgage business for a while now and knows his way around a mortgage contract. He was able to help explain all the details throughout the mortgage process. I got hung up on a few of the details but Joe was able to work with me and help me to understand the part that wasn’t clicking for me. Joe is a problem solver. Joe has the heart of a teacher and puts customer service above all. Not only did he save me money on my refinance, but he was also able to recommend an insurance broker that also saved me about $300 on my homeowner’s insurance. I didn’t think that was possible as I regularly shop insurance, but Joe knows how to work it. There’s a big trust factor that you have to have when selecting a loan officer. For me, I trust Joe. I think you should too.
