As a mortgage broker, Ian represents the borrower, not the lender. He works with a network of over 100 approved lenders offering lower, wholesale rates and loans for borrowers in unique situations: self-employed, investors, lower credit, no credit, and many others. 

Prior to mortgage lending, Ian was a consultant and marketing strategist. With a head for numbers, he was raised by a real estate agent and was always involved in his mother’s business.  He began managing family real estate investments while still in college. 

Ian has a head for numbers and a way of making complex things easy to understand.  “Even the most straightforward mortgage situation has options available that could save my client’s tens of thousands of dollars. Most loan officers don’t explain (or don’t understand) the options because they are so focused on selling the next loan.”

In addition to working with home buyers, Ian has extensive expertise using equity for debt restructuring, purchasing more real estate, and working with underserved borrowers like self-employed and 1099 applicants.

Ian has earned the certification as a Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP). This training provides the knowledge to identify gaps and foresee issues regarding real estate in the divorce agreement. He guides mediators, attorneys, and borrowers through the unique mortgage options and exceptions available to divorcing clients. The ins and outs of divorce lending are not taught anywhere except in the CDLP program. CDLPs have the training to get more divorcing clients approved for loans and can often save the marital home from being sold when divorcing clients would prefer not to sell.
